Celebrating a Life Well Lived
JUNE 25TH, 1963 - APRIL 12TH, 2025
Daphne Lina Roccos Prinz, of Parker, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, following a sudden cardiac arrest. She was 61.
Daphne was born on June 25, 1963, in New York City. A force of nature—radiant, unforgettable, full of life, energy, and warmth—she was magnetic and made people feel important and loved. She was the light in every room.
She was blessed with a rare strength and optimism, allowing her to meet her unique challenges with quiet mastery and elegance. She had a remarkable way of staying connected to everyone she cared about, especially her childhood friends. She remembered only the good in people. She never forgot a birthday and often sent spontaneous messages, gifts, or handmade scarves and jewelry. Each gesture was deeply personal. So many of us now hold something she made—a lasting reminder of her thoughtfulness and her joy for life.
Daphne was a proud graduate of Syracuse University. During her time there, she formed lifelong friendships—special connections that remained among the most enduring and joyful of her life.
She later made her home in Colorado, drawn by her love of skiing, hiking, and the natural beauty of the mountains. It was there that she met her husband, Tom, and where they raised their son, Luke. Her devotion to Luke was immeasurable. She spoke often and proudly of the man he has become. He was the light of her life, and being his mother was at the center of her world.
Later in life, Daphne earned two master’s degrees in social work—a reflection of her resilience, drive, and deeply held belief in the importance of connection and helping others.
Daphne is survived by her devoted husband, Tom, and their son, Luke; her siblings, Michael Roccos; Christina Roccos and her husband, Marty Smithmyer; and Alexis Roccos and his wife, Carrie. She is also survived by her nephew, Nikolas Roccos; her niece, Katrina Withrow, and her husband, Alex; and her nieces, Antonia, Cecilia, and Georgia Smithmyer.
She leaves behind her beloved Aunt Teta; Uncle Mixalis; and Uncle Tom Jones. Her extended family includes cousins Erica Shapeero and her husband, Tristram, and their children, Spencer and Tate; Andrew Lindberg and his wife, Gabi, and their children, Owen and Jackson; Rebecca Dellanini and her husband, Pete, and their children, Greg and Logan; Giorgos Roccos and his wife, Vassiliki, and their daughter, Mikaela; Pantelis Roccos and his wife, Ioanna, and their daughter, Anastasia; and Stacy Lindberg and Derek Lipman.
Daphne was cherished and loved by everyone who knew her. Singular, rare, and radiant—there is, and never will be, anyone quite like her. She was truly one in a million.
